I was watching a "Behind the Music" episode featuring Tom Petty, and he related that as he walked out of the studio while he was recording "Refugee", Keltner was standing outside with an egg shaker, saying, "This is what it needs."

So, he added him and his egg shaker:

Like somebody said it somewhere in HoD, JK has the art of slopiness, not my kind of thing, but I respect that. :-)
