Does anyone have any must listens for Keltner? I know very little of his drumming, just that it's great and he's revered as one of the best. The only album I can think of is From The Cradle by Clapton. He shuffles his ass off on that one. But, that's all that I have that I can think of.

So much good stuff. The Frisell album Gone, Just Like a Train blew my mind. I used put that on to fall asleep to, his playing floats and the less you listen the more you hear.

This track is nuts.

few do. That Wright LP w/Newmark is AMAZING as well! Dream Weaver fills
are..."What...huh...what?" His personality fits his style to a tee imo...

Both Frisell albums, 'Gone, Just Like a Train' and 'Good Dog Happy Man' are fantastic with Keltner playing with a multiple snare drum setup.

Nice! Checked out the Frisell albums, great stuff. I wore out the Frisell, Holland, Elvin record in college. Love that dude.

If I remember right, I think Keltner played double drums with Joachim Cooder on record called Mambo Sinuendo by Ry Cooder and Manuel Galban. You're not going to hear a lot of hip drum shit (usually won't with Keltner anyway), but the grooves are DEEP. I'm no Cuban music aficionado, but I loved Buena Vista Social Club and picked up Mambo Sinuendo when it came out based on that. Keltner has a lot of history with Ry Cooder (John Hiatt and Little Village). I'm at work right now, but I'll try and dig up some links later.
