Hard to say but I think I'd be fine with my 14x6 Longo solid walnut or Brady 14x6,5 Jarrah Ply or Ludwig 14x5 COB.

The last thing I want on a desert island is a snare.

That is a good point -- though I don't know if it would be the last thing I would want.

Here are some things I think are on the list of last before I turned down a snare drum:

A cobra
A tiger
The Sham Wow guy
Cottage cheese
Bridget Jones Diary (DVD)
Lucifer
Donald Trump's colonoscopy (DVD)

Now, that I think about it -- there are lots of things on my last thing list I would not want on a desert island before I get to a snare.

But that's just me.

For me, my desert island snare would be noble & Cooley Alloy Classic. Have one and in all honesty I've been using it on everything every time and I have a Gretsch 1980 6.5 x 14 wood snare, Noble & Cooley Solid Shell and a Brady Brown Madder 12 x 5.

Funny thread...I took it to mean if you HAD to pick ONE snare, what would it be?

Then we get;
Here are some things I think are on the list of last before I turned down a snare drum:

A cobra
A tiger
The Sham Wow guy
Cottage cheese
Bridget Jones Diary (DVD)
Lucifer
Donald Trump's colonoscopy (DVD)

...a cobra! That was just funny dude. A tiger. Cottage cheese. How about
ice and electricity and a refer and...a hot Latina BBW...Ooops, I digress.

I guess typical rabbit size would work.
