As you said, Dafnis music is very dynamic.
Dafnis is a very unique player. His approach is very contemporary compared to other drummers from Cuba.
I think it's the same band I saw at Mtl DrumFest. I remember he had incorporated a frying pan instead of a cowbell to his kit and it sounded amazing.

I have his ablum from a couple of years ago, Taking the Soul for a Walk, and it's just great. The compositions and arrangements are really substantial, the man has things to say, and the playing is wonderful. Need to check this link out when YouTube isn't blocked on my end....
