I went through similar issues years ago with Myspace and Facebook. As soon as I would get one taken down, another one would pop up a day or two later. It's all very frustrating and I don't have the time required to police this sort of thing.

I sent out that email blast from Vinnie's site to try and help him out with this. He has jumped through hoops for Twitter, and they still won't help him take over that account which is using his name.

And why bother? Especially if there's nothing there.

Yep nothing there... YET! I put myself in his shoes and I get it... So knowing that HOD wouldn't be what it is without Vinnie's masterfully unique contributions to music and drumming, I think the least we HODers can do is help the Maestro in that regard.

This twitter account is directly related to VC the drummer? Otherwise for many it is just a name....

Hey Paul,

You should work to get Vinnie an "official" VC Twitter account .. blue checkmark and all that .. even if you don't use it. That way, if folks are trying to follow him they'll tend to pick the real deal.

That's what he wants to do, but he should be able to do it with THAT username, don't you think?

We went through the same thing with Virgil's twitter handle. That account (@virgildonati) is still suspended, so we went with @virgil_donati - to put it behind us and move on.

I think I realized at some point that it's not the handle that will make people flock to it - it will be the content. Both @vincentcolaiuta and @vinnie_colaiuta seem to be up for grabs. I'd run with one of those if you indeed are intent on taking on Twitter.

Maybe there is another Vinnie Colaiuta.
