Yamaha Carbon Custom Snare

Postby Richie Jarvis » Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:18 pm

Hello all and Happy Thanksgiving from all of us in Australia.

I have a bit of an odd one for you all, I have been on the hunt for a YAMAHA Carbon Custom snare for a few years now and finally found a piccolo and the price is about right. Thing is seems this one drum has done the rounds over the last 6-7 years and I last saw this on eBay around then and it's popped up again.

So all seems right but now the seller is in Italy and moving back to Croatia and it's looking more like an Escrow scam with each passing email but and it's a big but....

Do any of my fellow HOD'ers know of any that are for sale or who has one especially build number 5.

Please let me know.

PS: Not turkey for us until Christmas.

2014. It seems it was in Vancouver. Maybe you can contact him/her to see what happened with that particular snare...

Yep that's the one and I googled the email address and there are listings in Ohio and other states of random high priced goods but the person claims they are back in Italy then heading home to Croatia.....Can you smell Escrow scam?

I have asked to pay via PayPal and that only, since then all has gone quiet....I think i will never get my White Whale.

The ones I've heard(not in person yet) sound like inbetween steel and acrylic. Guess that makes sense, too.

Probably good for some things, but I dont see how it would be very versatile.

I am looking for one (and have been) for a while to add to my collection and it's a drum I have always been fascinated with.

That's not a carbon fiber layup - it's a plastic & Fiberglass foo.
