Based on your description of what you’re looking for, I would focus on hard bop, the melodies are heavily blues orientated and often lend themselves to a consistent walking bass line. Lots of it sits right in that medium to medium-up tempo range as well.

bensdrums...bullseye bro! After 40 vids on a Hard Bop search
I found a few gems that came very close to perfection for me...

Overall, Freddie the Freeloader by Miles and Autumn Leaves by Cannonball Adderly
are almost perfect...laid back, lots of space...ride is right up front...straight up swing
pulse. Tempo dead center...i might look into what Krupa said about the mix...
the horns are way too pronounced on these tunes...i want to tone them down
and bring that ride up

This tune is a faster tempo but OH SO SWEET when it kicks in at 0:30
after that horn run into the groove! Could listen to this pocket for days
on end!!

"Sinatra Reprise The Very Good Years," with The Count Basie Orchestra, a great "best of" collection, is mostly mid tempo swing songs in a modern big band context including:

I Get a Kick Out Of You
Luck Be A Lady
The Best is Yet to Come (my favorite)
Fly Me To The Moon
I've Got You Under My Skin
Summer Wind
All Or Nothing At All
The Lady Is A Tramp
Etc.

Thanks Henry...I wasn't looking for vocals, but dang, Frank was THE MAN...
dude could sing the Old Testament and make it swing!

Two had a ride pattern...gotta be a ride pattern--no hats or brushes
but you got me thinking about instrumentals for this style...tempos
were spot on--all laid back grooves. Irv Cotlier is VASTLY underrated!

Summer Wind --end of one of the best Simpsons episodes...brilliant!
All Or Nothing At All

** This is what I am after...smooth ride, especially at beginning before he
changes up then back at it @30:54 (if you know this tune share please...
gonna add it to my collection)

Joe - how's the swing practicing going? How much and what are you working on?

Not so much for practice right now...just love this specific feel
for listening...almost never listen to pop/rock music anymore...
funk & jazz & marching music...got into a 50s & 60s jazz binge and
this feel very meditative for me...Art Blakey rises to the top for
some reason...I have little to no "jazz sensibility" myself...sort
of a mystery to me no matter how much I listen...can never grab
hold if it...clears my head...can listen to it all day long

...you asked
