I've added a new element to my practice lately. With the end in mind and the current comfort level I've sarted practicing matched, traditional, crossed and open handed all at once by playing the same groove and switching in set periods like 2 or 4 bars etc..

The whole idea has always been to just feel comfortable regardless and this os a good way to work now.

It obviously just by it's nature will even things out even more.

Sometimes people wonder why such things are done? If it's really nedded? Useful? My own perspective is that the balance is worth it. It frees the mind and lets you body do whatever on a whim without sacrificing time and feel. That's the goal anyway and I just feel more balanced behind the kit regardless of what I actually have to play.

I'm sure musicians are writing and producing new music at record pace. Now is the time to support musicians more than ever!!! Musicians are like bees. Bees die we die.

They can record, edit and produce new music from the comfort of their homes.

What sticks are you using guys these days?
I stumbled across Vater´s Universal model and I wanna say that I´m pretty impressed... For starters they last quite a bit more than my Vic Firths! Big plus in my book.
The tapper is a bit short for my taste on this particular model, but I think for next batch of sticks I´ll be ordering Vater!

Still the Colaiuta sticks. I've got about 30-40 each of the Vics and Zildjians. Sticks last a long time for me, so hopefully I'll find a way to make my own before I run out. Before things went to shit it was my plan to set up a workshop for that, but like most other things it's on the back burner until I get my life back. The idea was to try doing it in several different woods.

I do try new things from time to time, but nothing that speaks to me.

I do use others sticks, but nothing's changed there either.

In my orchestral bag I've got all the Jan Pustjens sticks, a pair of Tom Gauger #16 and your standard SD2 Boleros.

In my regular stick bag in addition to the Vinnie sigs I've got Erskine's Ride and Big Band models as well as the standard and combo John Riley sticks. They're for special occasions, so they see limited use. Just in case for very low volume playing.

Heavy pad sticks are Hardimon Corpsmasters.
