Van Halen binge for two weeks now...

The brother's killed it here:

Theme for 2020...that snare is delicious!

Late, in 2020, THIS still is blistering fire from four ADHD kids residing in Pasadena
that refused to take any meds!

Fair Warning Rothless...might be my fav LP overall

If this isnt a tribute to Eddie, I dont know what is...Nuno goes insane.
Gary is 61 and has the vibe of a 25yo...Extreme is back.

I agree Rodge...Gary and Nuno are so strong the drum track
gets lost in translation...Kevin nailed this groove.

If you haven't heard Wolf's "Mammoth" record, you should. It is a very good record. He plays and sings everything on it, and sounds great. I interviewed him (and Mammoth drummer Garrett Whitlock) for Modern Drummer last year, we talked about the record a lot, how Garrett interprets the drum parts live, and wetalked a little about Wolf and his dad. If I can say, I think it's a very good interview. Wolf is working on a new record as we speak. He's a hell of a musician, and a good person, and a nice guy.

There is also a new book about Ed called Tonechaser: My 26 Year Journey with Edward Van Halen, written by Steve Rosen that is EXCELLENT!!! No TMZ and gossip crap, just two musicians talking. Rosen was also a lead writer for Guitar World and Guitar Player. They take a deep dive into every record, the how's and why's, and everything else. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Those Fair Warning tracks without DLR are fantastic! That's my fave VH record, I saw that tour and several others.

The Nuno solo is bananas.
The ride cymbal pattern on the guitar solo on Mean Streets was one of the coolest things i had ever heard. Alex definitely changed my drumming. Girl Gone Bad. House of Pain. Hell, JUMP is amazing.
Thanks for the book recco Noms.

Virgil's old pal, Simon Hosford, is doing a killer job paying tribute to Eddie
