Alex Van Halen Legends Book

Postby Terry Branam » Tue Dec 15, 2020 12:06 pm

Hey everyone,

I am very proud to announce that Modern Drummer has just released a book from their "Legends" series on Alex Van Halen that I was asked to work on. I did about 42 pages of transcriptions that span their entire catalog. Very proud! Any VH fan would dig this for sure!

Check it out here:

Cheers!

Congrads...love to read this!!!
I have doped up on VH since Ed's passing...
listened to every LP at least 3x...AVH KILLED
this gig...he was lucky his electronic phase in
the 80s wasnt too distracting, keeping that
perfect acoustic snare drum to off-set those
toms...

Sad to think that he won't be playing/recording anymore.

He's like, "no more music without my brother" state of mind ?

I guess so, yeah. Really pretty sad. I lost a brother too a couple of years ago, so I can sort of relate.

Man the roto-toms in the jump video were so iconic to me at that age. The drumming on all of 1984 was very formative for me. Anytime I hear Girl Gone Bad I turn into an air-guitaring air-drumming fool.
