Official Stewart Copeland Thread

Postby Pocketplayer » Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:55 pm

This guy deserves his own thread...he played with the savage nature of
a young Vinnie Colaiuta and transformed pop music...nobody sounded
like Stew...

Post your favorite performances...

Love his Animal Logic phase...

One World off of Ghost In The Machine........
The ska/reggae nuances he puts in knocked me out when I first heard it, and they still do.

Also, there's a cool documentary about Cold War espionage featuring Stewart's mother, father, and brother Miles
(No mention of Stewart, though)

I saw Animal Logic live in Philly on their first (and probably only) tour, in a small theatre and actually taped it, they were so loud that the (walkman) recording didn't come out that great, but they were killing!

I wore out that whole first Animal Logic record, and used to practice with it A LOT! I remember eagerly waiting for Oysterhead to come out, and hearing and HATING it. Maybe I should go back and revisit it, maybe I'll love it now. I dug the soundtrack work that he did to the TV show "The Equalizer." I need to check out the Curved Air stuff,

What huge drumming influence for soooo many drummers!
