I became a Price fan in the 80's, but really in the 90's with the symbol album and the Gold Experience. This guy is such a badass. If you're not familiar, check out those 2 Prince albums he is playing some serious shit!

The Prince "symbol" (especially the tune "Seven") record floored me. A few years ago I went on a Michael Bland dive, and fell in love with Jef Lee Johnson's "News From The Jungle," and Michel Portal's "Minneapolis We Insist," Ricky Peterson's "A Tear Can Tell" is incredible, and Phil Upchurch "Whatever Happened To The Blues" and Jonny Lang's "Turn Around" are groove masterpieces. Michael Bland is a groove master, who can also play some really over the top stuff. Not an either/or drummer, he's BOTH!
