Its Virgil with a mullet playing Sonor phonics. The Donti-isms are already well developed; the up-facing left palm, the double bass mastery, the tom/bass vinnie lick, the crossover trickery. He grooves quite nicely with this band as well.

This one is from 1992. Not much else than straight pop/rock - but I enjoy the
bridge, which is really well written. And Jack Jones is a great singer.

With absolutely no disrespect, I couldn't disagree more. I see no similarities in groove, touch or expression. At all.

That said, Carlos played drums on Tina Arena's album "Don't Ask"...
