Grammy Awards 2011

Postby Mark P » Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:11 pm

Heya folks,

So, there are always some nice sightings of our favourite guys here!

I know JR is playing in "A tribute to Aretha Franklin" with Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams & Martina McBride AND... Barbra Streisand's performance.

Looking forward to the show!

I can't stand lady gaga. I just saw on the news she arrived at the awards show in an egg shell. Brilliant. Music sucks but her antics are neato.

Esperanza Spalding winning best new artist makes me very happy. Take that, Bieber!

I just watched it; JR Robinson was fantastic. He plays a 24 inch bass drum; Is that new to him? I never knew...

Gonna have to disagree with you. She nails the pop thing. People may say that her influences are obvious, but since when has pop music for the sake of pop music been truly innovative? Innovation comes from outside and trickles in.

If her music sucks, it sucks all the way to the bank.

I wish it sucked all the way to my bank.

Yep, the music can suck all the way to the bank, but so can artistry, musicianship and great song writing. That is when you'll see longevity....otherwise its just a fad and doesnt stick around too long. Thats why people like Mick Jaggar and Streisand are still on the Grammy's performing. I'd bet you wont see Arcade Fire in 25 years, but i could be wrong
