A couple of those phrasings came straight from Weckl's solo in the Weck/Gadd/Vinnie segment of the Buddy Rich Memorial. Really nice fill packaging.
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

yes, they are a great tool. I really enjoy having v-drums hooked up to a computer with a nice library (for ex: superior 2.0) and
using real cymbals instead.

As for any instrument, there´s a learning curve...but you can definitely make them sound "real" in terms of play and feel
such as the clip you posted.

thanx

Really liked this guys playing! V's and the newer DTXtreme gear from Yamaha are the next best thing to acoustics. The trick is to be able to transfer all that work on the electronics over to the acoustics. It's not always a smooth transition.

Played these at NAMM a couple years ago... much more playable than the Yamaha edrums IMO... and a third of the cost of the Roland/Yamaha top kits...
