Drummer identified: it was Vinnie! Calling Infra Blue!

Postby Henrik » Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:13 pm

I've had this track on my hard drive for many years now, and I can't remember where I got it/what artist it is/anything! The mp3 is called Two brothers and I've been searching like crazy for that but I've come up with nothing. I have a feeling it's Mark Craney playing the drums, but I'd really like to know for sure so I can get the entire album, because I love this track, especially the drumming. Here's the link:

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Found it! It's a song from the Don Randi album "Baked Potato Shuffle" featuring none other than the Vinster on drums! As I presumed, I got it from HOD to begin with: http://www.houseofdrumming.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4513&view=next&sid=61a1180b6b1e506e068d68199c58383b

Infra Blue, do you have the entire cd? I can hardly find any info on it at all apart from a basic track listing. Is Vinnie on all of it?

Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen and make a guess! Somehow I don't think that this is Steve, but I've been wrong before so I'll try some searches based on that!

do you have any more info on the song? It sounds like Brecker Brothers in a way. There's no sax though. I'd guess mid 80's fusion...

Hi Henrik,

I found this upon further investigation:

http://dangerous.softarchive.net/don_ra ... 24275.html

however, this record does not seem to contain the track that you posted above although it does have a track called two brothers. The drummer credited on this one is John Summer.

EDIT: This track is awesome so if you find out anything else please let us know. Is there any chance you could share the .mp3 as the link to old HOD thread where it hosted on savefile.com has now expired. Thanks!
