This kid did a good job with one of the new Weckl Oliver tunes. Good production vid.

That's one of the *new* tunes? I always found Oliver to be an unbelievably boring "formula" songwriter.
I'm so glad Weckl gets to play with many other artists. Even Stern's same-tune-iness is better than this, for my taste.

PS: That kid did do a good job.

That kid was fantastic. Way relaxed and comfortable playing that stuff... nice.

Thanks to Dave for the most wonderful day of learning and inspiration. Not just a great player, but such an amazing teacher and nice guy as well.

I edited together this Weckl Acoustic Band preview video from a concert in LA this past January -- this was an honor and a joy to work on, can't wait to see this gang together again live this summer.

I've got to say, that's a damn good idea. A drummer like Dave needs to lead...doesn't make much sense for him to follow or anything else...

It also sounds as fresh as ever. If he could every outlive the 80's electro fusion, now would be the time. Great!

I'd really like to get a hold of those silver-looking super or hyper cardioid capsule dealios he uses on his Beta 98s. Anyone have an idea of where to find/buy them?

Dave's actually still running the SM98 on the toms .. the sleeve is the "polar modifier" that came with them, but that mic has been discontinued for years and I'm not sure if the beta 98 comes with one?

eBay and the like are probably your best bet, unfortunately.
