I've ordered the Bluray, I'm excited to watch it.

Mine came in the mail about a couple of weeks ago or so, finally got around to checking it out this weekend. Some cool playing footage but mostly I dug how far they got into the pre-production and production processes. Also, both Dave and Jay's home studios were cool to check out. Tough to resist the GAS urge for more studio gear after watching that. I dig how Dave sticks to pretty much the same mics and approach both live and in the studio, and is able to achieve what is arguably one of the best drum sounds in the business in both settings. In the world of microphones and boutique pres, what he uses is pretty straight forward and comparatively modest. Once he finds something that works for him, he clearly sticks to it.

I agree Ben.

Last night I watched the Blu Ray.
01:00 a.m.
Me alone in the TV room.
Headphones.
Wow.

I just want to say thanks to Steve Orkin (producer of the video and HODer).
Two hours of real and emotive content in the video.
I really enjoyed it.
I can imagine the amount of work put in this pledge adventure.
Congratulations.

Steve, keep the good work and translate this to Dave and Jay.

Sure did.

Sounds like it's only on the planning stages, though. Might not happen for a while.

It's sort of the thing to do now. Dave, enjoying doing clinics and making educational materials, just makes sense he would jump on it at some point. Big name among drummers and certain jazzers, but I have a feeling his paychecks aren't the kind Sting pays his musicians. I think he would get a ton of subscribers and he'd make lots of money without having to leave home so much.

I actually wouldn't even be surprised if Dave took a trip to the Drumeo studio. Probably won't, though.

Don't see why Weckl doesn't really cash in on this, as a guy who's been out there actually doing it and playing with everyone unlike those tools like Mike Johnston and Cobus etc...
