Oh shit, that was KILLER! I'm kicking myself for missing out on those gigs (though I'm sure there'll be more). Love Weckl's set up he's got going on- the he really makes that small kick stand out! Just to be sure, that's a timbale next to his floor tom? He's got some great ideas going with the single rack and the floor tom to his left.

Yup, config was/is: 16" floor to the left, 12" rack tom, 14" floor to the right, timbale beyond that, 18" kick. Snare was the new brass Weckl signature model.

Not with that pianist anytime soon. Makoto's a superstar in Japan. I don't think his schedule is free very often.

On the acoustic vid Juan put up....what is it that Dave is doing from 4:22-4:30...to make the snare notes so continuous and fluid....is it paradiddles?
