Posted: Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:11 pm
Hello House of Drumming Drummers. The earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan has left most of us speechless ... but feeling a need to do something, many musicians are participating in all star recording projects (I played on 2 tunes of the just-released "Jazz for Japan" album available @ iTunes, other drummers include Steve Gadd, Tommy Brechtlein, Ndugu Chancler and Alex Acuña, et al ...) and/or "live" concerts. I'm involved with the planning for an event that begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Vitello's Jazz Club in the valley (on Tujunga). Music, music, music plus a Silent Auction of some pretty great items including a brand new DW Collector’s 6.5x14 polished chrome over steel snare w/ chrome hardware, a Zildjian "Inspiration Pack" of cymbals, various Zoom video and audio recorders & USB mics, swag, signed film scores (including the "Flying Scene" score paper from ET, signed and donated by composer John Williams), Shure complete set of drum mics, and so on ... BANDS INCLUDE:
