Thanks again!

No relation to the other Palmer, and yes I get asked a lot. :-)

The vamp, if I can find it, is an mp3....not sure how to share it?

Very nice Louie...

Husband is a beast...I know Virg plays keys, but at this level?

Can you imagine Gary playing a set behind keys...then strolling over to the drums,
making a few jokes about drummers, and then wailing. That's entertainment!

Hey Louie,

You can upload the .mp3 on here and then just share the link with us, I just tested it out to share a solo in the Frank Briggs thread I just started.

By the way, as I commented on youtube, in that vamp solo the roll on the snare drum from around 0:35 to 0:40 is killer! Gonna have to sit down at the drums when I get back to Hong Kong and figure that one out!

Hehe, I absolutely love Gary, both on piano and drums, but Virgil is no slouch
on the piano either, and well...pretty good on drums as well ;)

I always loved the contrast between Debussy/Donati and Donati in this clip, paired with
Virgil's humility and friendly nature. Even while playing the piano he looks over and smiles:

PS: I wouldn't suspect Virgil to have the comping skills of Gary.

Morgan the Virgil pimpage is becoming heavy handed maybe?
SPEAKING OF <insert topic> HERE'S A VIRGIL VIDEO!

I like Virg's playing when I'm in the mood for it, like a good kung-fu movie. But it seems any opportunity and you're taking out the pamphlet and going over the bullet-points.

Am I out of line here? I mean, it IS a drumming forum, just saying that I noticed is all I guess.

In this instance it seemed appropriate, but I'll think about it.
The topic included a drummer playing piano, and Pocketplayer referred to Virgil.

I don't think you're out of line, but you might want to loosen the grip a bit.
Other members usually have no problem telling me or anyone else if they are overselling
one drummer. Heck, this place ususally IS about overselling one drummer.
I like the level of debate and insight on here, and I usually keep the older/heavily rotated clips of Virg
to the Weekend Chatty. You can always let me know through a dm if it is getting too much, but often someone
have thanked me for being that close link to insight on Virg.

Morgenthaler really likes Virgil, I even remembered that back from when I used to frequent the old forums. I think it's cool, I don't really check out Virgil except from when Morgenthaler posts a clip so I'm quite happy cos it gives me a chance to check out someone who I wouldn't normally check out. Anyway, let's keep it to topic which is LP playing! I want to get a copy of that vamp!
