Holy Drumming Madness!

Chambers is wreckless!

This thread will never die...longest ever in HOD's history for a non-sticky?

Will say this about ol' MM...met him at NAMM when he was the single stroke
champ on the Drum-o-Meter thing...it was actually a negative in my mind
because I just thought he was one of those speed finger guys.

He was one of nicest, most genuine personalities I've ever met. There is
a sweetness about the guy in the best kinda way. He was very in the moment
without any hint of self-absorption or need to hide behind image ala my
encounter w/Rikki Rocket moments earlier (no offense to the Rocket man,
but he had so much glam on I wondered if he would melt under the lights).

Kudos Mike...you earned it the old fashioned way...practice, patience, and faith.

Moose - crazier things have happened on this forum.

Gaddabout - that 5/5 gif was hilarous!

Do we know this? I wouldn't even assume he'd be intrested. As if this would be a dream gig for anyone capable of that type of drumming...?

DiCenso was not interested in playing the sort of music that Dream Theater plays. He is more interested in music with good hooks and laying down deep grooves.

All's well that ends well.

MM cannot come with a smaller kit than MP. Fans wouldn't accept it.
It has to be the same or bigger...and it is BIGGER!

Showmanship is a big part of what DT was looking for IMO.
I think we can stop wondering why 4-piece guys like DiCenso were not auditioned.

Why didn't Steve Michaud get an audition?! Steve?
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

But they could get an extremely big kit to play with the band. I think Jean-Luc Ponty asked Steve Smith to play a big kit on tour.

Shoot you know... I'd take that gig in a moment. And would "LOVE" Dream Theater music.

No, but really, I would take a gig like that no matter what. Mike played the part perfect. And heck, if funding was not an option, and it was a big stadium act like that, Shiiiit ever seen one of Grant Collin's setups? That's what I'd be rocking. Bozzio style, more pedals then drums.
