Heard a rumor that Toss will be playing (at least) a week long gig with Scofield on the right coast soon. I'm pretty excited by this idea as Sco has such a gritty sound that I'm hoping this will be pretty incredible. Hopefully we'll get details soon! :o

Yeah this combo has potential to be pretty sick. I just saw Toss a week ago, his groove was as funky and as sloppy as ever. Can't wait to see what happens!

Wonder if it will be fusion or jazz. Hope they play on the coast that has the best jazz players in the world.

It's on Sco's page:

He's calling it the Chicago Blues Project, and it's also featuring Robben Ford... (!)

They're at the Blue Note in NYC 11/30-12/5.

Goodness.... I hope there's some sort of record coming out with this lineup! I bet it'll be sick!

They did some rehearsing at Toss' house recently.

I'd like to see that too!
I think Toss' grease and John's scratchy tone will be perfect for one another...

Sco has a great ear for fresh drumming meat, so I'm not surprised he'd hook up with Toss. Sco introduced me to Chambers, Adam Deitch, and Idris Muhammad. I agree -- this is a really good match. Hope it sticks around for a year or two so they can get something recorded.

Well, if Robben Ford is in the band, he must be responsible of Toss's presence, it's what I think.

Adam Deitch's stuff on 'Bump', ('Blackout' in particular) was fantastic.

So sloppy and groovy, like an early Carlock. It was the first time I had heard that type of constant left hand gracing. His left hand on that record made me WORK!!
