Glad to see some love for Alphonse Mouzon here. IMHO, he is terribly unheralded and more often than not, forgotten and overshadowed by Tony, Billy and Lenny White in his contributions to fusion, drumming and producing in general. EVERY time I hear Beastie Boy's "Shake Your Rump" I think of Alphonse, his hilarious hat and the Funky Snakefoot album:
