Re: Assorted videos / YouTube thread
Now that Rush has retired I'm gonna go back a few years. His time and tempo are really amazing in this concert. The first tune you get a sense he's just slaying the tempo steady the entire time. He plays his fills perfectly and doesn't RUSH the notes! Super solid time. If a song is 82bpm it stays there and doesn't budge.
Re: Assorted videos / YouTube thread
And one thing that really blows my mind is just how many shows they played every single year. How in the hell did he do that, and the rest of the guys. Driven dudes...

I enjoyed this tribute/medley. Felix is a great young drummer. Channeling your inner Jeff and Simon in the same go is exciting.

WTF Lang...where did THIS come from???
Read every Jeff article...he is utterly consistent
with these students. Interestingly, he mentions Weckl
here. What other drummer with his creds would sit with
a group of students and say, "What is this guys?" and
play some inverted paradiddle thing? That is Jeff!
I am ONE OF YOU...zero ego, but supremely confident.
Very rare personality combo!
I enjoyed this "medley", but when you do five songs in 24 mins
is this really a medley? 4 min clips of songs? Even TOTO will
cover five songs in about 7 mins. This is more extended play...
not sure I get the concept for all the effort???
And I will be a dick here...if you are covering Africa, play 16ths
on the hats...(Angle City Chorale drummer did a good job)
the Rosanna shuffle was...hmmm, kinda close.
His inner Jeff at least needs some work!
That is me tho...respect is covering those details...they cover
too many bands doing this to nail the details. Kaide covers
song the right way IF you are going for that...if not, I don't
really get the effort. Go all the way...
They're talented...don't get me wrong.
