Mayer said it best....you have to enter the world of the grateful dead at the right time and with the right tune then you'll get sucked in. Since John has been playing with them I'm hooked bad....about all I listen to

Fun to put the live shows on shuffle and shed with the headphones....Cold Rain & snow, Liberty, They loved each other, He's gone, Wharf Rat, so many good ones

I agree with that. It's like a first listen to Tony, Tain or Jack, you hear notes and not what's below the surface until it gets revealed to you. The hidden dimension. I still listen to Tony and pick up on things I hadn't heard before. I love that about music.

If you look at the audience shots here, you see a lot of smiling faces, lots of people dancing and grooving.

It's a live experience, the power of live music, a few hours of happiness never hurt anyone. Some music made today I am not sure what it's purpose is, to make people angry and pissed off all the time?

Outside of Springsteen, there might not be a more loyal audience than Dead fans!
This band will never die...it is the ULTIMATE festival concert material. Any place,
any time this music works. It speaks to everyone, kids to seniors...families and
college students, thus has that "worship church experience"...just ask Bill Walton!

This guy is pretty amazing. Easy to see where his influences were sourced.

He looks to hold his RH stick really loosely. When I saw him with Robben Ford he was really loud, powerhouse playing.

LOVED that Screaming band...seeing a percussionist work is art!
That "old time" mic super hip...I am very surprised an artists
has not jumped on the visual of this and housed a mic in something
very hip and cool looking. Hiromi is MAGIC...everything about her
sexy...don't know this drummer, but dug his pocket...reminds me of
a Funk Brother playing this style. Thanks Rudy...a video I would have
probably passed on in my surfing sessions.

So Brechtlein was playing w Chick around the time of his new era
electric band...what happened to him? How did Dave get the gig?
I saw Chick around this time when he played on my college campus...
one of Dave's early gigs and Brechtlein had a bigger name at the time.
