Branford jamming with the Dead. This song has another one of those interesting turnarounds and a riff that sticks in your head. The jam is out there and just keeps going and going, a stream of triplets.

MAN, Shannon is so fucking good. Goodbye Girl and English Eyes were the highlights for me.

Kurtis...nice! Warren Ham...the one man everything! Incredible how significant this musician is in a band.
Lenny is badass as well! For the hard core TOTO fan, they played some rare cuts...this was
amazing! LION...? WOW...LOVE that tune! WHY...WHY they skip over All Us Boys is beyond me!
Will never get that mystery. Shannon is VERY satisfying...I get the Simon era...but SO glad
they went back to Jeff's feel and style. Now we can all see through the Forest! The diversity of
music this band is capable is just...ineffable. They really went out on top here!

Sort of a looking back type of show. Many doing that these days with shorter careers, so it's fitting.

Joseph sounds better than he did on the last tour. Like Sting though he has the wisdom to not push into registers he doesn't have anymore.

As far as Shannon sonding like Jeff. He does the songs jusstice for sure, solid, from yje Jeff school, but has his own thing. Generally a bit more behind and pushing the snare further back on some things.

^ Nice sjj123, not heard much of Pat Petrillo's playing before but he's excellent. That low tuned left side snare sounds good. I don't think he's rimshotting it is he? Looks like he's playing just the centre of head to get a fatter sound.

Seems to be all the rage to use those black ringed damping thingys. I guess a homemade one could be knocked up easily. Seems to be a modern evolution of what Gadd used back in the day when he had a ring cut out from a head hanging to the side and tied to a lug that he would pull up onto his snare when he needed that fat Gadd sound.

The Big Fat Snare is pretty much like laying a while cut out head on it. Instant low and dry with having to twist a single rod. They make one with a hole in it and both versions can also be had with jingles. Cost about $20 bucks, but they look slick and are virtually indestructible.

I can justify that. Snare weight, not so much.
