Virgil Donati POV drum cam

Postby samnmax203 » Mon May 02, 2011 3:31 pm

I hadn't seen this on the board already (crosses fingers). All the Dream Theater drum talk had me youtube hunting all of the badasses that were auditioning and I found this awesome clip!

EDIT: (Steve POWER EDIT! Just put the URL from the YT vid in there, up to and including vid ID. Here's what I put in there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDKSYfrQNgM
[END OF POWER EDIT!]

You really get a sense of how he sees the drums, and damn does he make it look easy and effortless! I also found myself wondering if his headnodding at certain points was his way of counting the subdivisions... really cool either way![youtube]

Hey that was cool! Totally dig the riffs and the drumming was great. I am not always into Viril but this was great.

I caught that on his site a few days ago, it's a cool thing. Though it kinda makes me dizzy. Very cool idea though, particularly for a huge show or such.

That was cool...not normally the type of music I check out but I dug it! Makes you think how the hell does Virgil not get dizzy doing that cos I felt dizzy watching it too.

Please don't coz he's very good friend of mine ;)
- but in all honesty, those effects didn't make much sense to me either.
