Steve Holmes wrote:SO...I took a lesson with Gergo at my shed a few days ago. He was in town doing the Lang camp and I took a chance and PM'd him on FB (I met him at the Potato a while ago). He was nice enough to ask why I wanted I wanted a lesson, I told him I was interested in his 32nd note phrasing. Also as I fan of drumming I'm fascinated and entertained by him and just wanted to be in the room with the guy and watch him play and pick his brain.

He was super cool, super nice and kept the focus on what I wanted to get from him (instead of just blowing whatever he wanted). His approach is not based on working on concepts so much as it just brute-force sitting down and playing what he wants to play. He said he never starts things really slow, didn't practice to a click too much, just played a fuck-ton and picked stuff from listening. Pretty impressive.

Anyways I'll post some pics soon.

Wow. That is awesome. I was blown away by the drummer "impressions" he did on a recent drum channel vid. Kewl.

I love watching him solo! One of the very few drummers on the planet that can captivate my senses and make them go (i guess insert GIF here).
