Send your love - Sting on Letterman

Postby JonasR » Mon Jul 04, 2011 9:54 am

A long time ago someone here posted a link to a live performance with Sting on Letterman (maybe on Steve's old media page? - i can't remember)
It was a killer version of 'Send your love' w. Vinnie doing what he does best. Splashes all over, incredible trade fills and yet very very tastefull. (At least that's how i remember it)

And I can't find it anywhere
I've learned from this board that I should DL any Vinnie thing on Youtube immediately, but apparently I was a couple of years too late this time.
Did any of you guys get a copy? Help - thanks!

Thanks for that! I hadn't seen it before and had always wondered how Vinnie would sound on that song. It always sounded like something he would have fun on. And I was right! Manu played on the studio recording, right? I would hate to be Manu ... always having your stuff reinterpreted by Vinnie. Sort of like being a pro baseball player and having Babe Ruth pinch hit for you.
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

And people wonder why I almost never get backing vocals in my monitor mix :|
Other than that, amazing performance. Let the blushda shine through!

The video and audio of the following clips are out of sync so I would just listen to it (Today Show):

...VInnie on fire >>> 3:07 - 3:26

...and some more songs:

Sweet thanks for sharing those amoergosum! I have the "send your love" clip from the today show, with no synch problems if anyone wants it, just let me know. They also did a show at The Hammerstein during this mini promotional tour. Anyone happen to have a video of that?

Also, Vinnie recently (in the last year or two) did a couple of shows with Sting in Brazil from what I understand but I've never been able to find boots of the stuff. Would be interested to see how Vinnie plays through this stuff now-a-days. Anybody know if any boots from those shows exist?
