Chris Coleman, "eating" Dave's "Spurs Of The Moment"

Postby Rodge » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:32 am

Hey guys,

Who saw that clip on DiCenso's drum shop Facebook's page where Chris is MURDURING "our" old school Dave's "Spurs Of The Moment" ?

Man, Chris is really incredible : http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php ... 1011371906

We still can hear some stuff in Dave's spirit, but jeez, what a monster, I like.

Guys, how can I have that speed with that power on bass drum ?

Hey Rodge, link seems to be dead...any other place to catch this? Did a google search, with no luck... He is a monster, much like the vids I have seen of your playing.
Some not so recent playinghttp://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ScottPazera.. track 7

Yeah, I can see it through here -- one note, though, it's Garden Wall (not Spur of the Moment). Try this link:

Your link yes Lucas, it's indeed "Garden Wall" with the late giant Mike Brecker, but I was talking about "Spurs....", it's somewhere too. :D

That was just sick!!
Chris is pretty amazing and I really like his playing overall but musically speaking....
I still prefer Dave's original version. (MY PERSONAL OPINION)

On Dave’s version it’s more relax, melodic, w/ more dynamics and the music breaths better to my ears.

On Chris’s version all I can hear is chops, speed, lots of notes, too many fills, no dynamics and I felt like I was getting suffocated. No offense!

There is no better drummer or better version…I’m just sharing my personal opinion.

But that guy is freaking fast…Damn!

That was quite awesome! What power. He nailed it to a tee. Thanks for posting this. Let's find the spur of the moment clip. Would love to see his take on that tune.

Sorry about that, I stand corrected -- yeah, I can't get to any of the other videos (although it says there are two more). Maybe I have to friend the drum shop first?

When was the last time Dave played this song? It would be interesting to hear his interpretation of it now.

I can see it now that I'm "friends" with the drum shop. If this link doesn't work for you, just add them ...
