Peter Erskine Video Interview

Postby gwizmon » Thu Jul 14, 2011 5:24 pm

Hi Folks,

thought you might like to check out a recent video interview Peter Erskine was so gracious to sit down and conduct with me.

And FYI - Part 2 features an exclusive video performance I shot of Peter's new trio at his studio in California.

Enjoy,

Janek

Fantastic interview Janek.....ive been listening to as much of Peter Erskine's work as i can.....its always a pleasure to hear him play.
His album Sweet Soul is among my favorites....and the new trio cd with Damian is fantastic....by the way, your interview with
Gary Husband is great as well.....always insightful and always a learning experience....the duo footage there was fun to listen
to as well. :)

Part two will be coming up next week. I try and release one episode per week, and if you're signed up to the mailing list you'll be notified as soon as it's released.

Thanks for the support guys, lots more interviews to come throughout the year, and a brand new radio show/podcast that I'm going to be in Austin taping next week. I've ben working on an incredible digital music collection with a good friend of mine for some years and we felt it was time to share all this rare material with everyone in the form of a radio show.

This email was sent out to my list entitled "if you could choose one song...."

So if you're interested in hearing some super rare recordings, come and be a part of the live stream next week while we're taping the shows and we'll try and take some requests from people online to play some rare bootlegs from the archive.

Thanks,

Janek

Thanks for sharing, Janek! I always like to hear how people get gigs. It always seems to be as a result of having been spotted at another gig, or knowing someone, or having worked with someone before. That tells you everything you need to know about getting gigs, socialise within the industry, do as many gigs as you can and work with as many people as you can.

Did Peter go into how he got the call for Steely Dan?

I can't actually remember if we talked about Steely Dan... it was a while ago when we did the interview.... we talked about a lot of stuff, and there are still two parts of the interview to come...
