I would love to see Paco Sery, Tain, Vinnie, Terry Bozzio and me.
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

Ya gotta give the people what they want. Virgil would blow people away...they want to see athletic, fast fills that appeal to the senses. Royster was in this class...the reaction proved the point. A lot of what Vinnie does is so above the average person flipping channels. Bozzio solo w/Zappa would kill (all roto tom set is best). The ultimate solo would be from the early Steve "Machine Gun" Smith Journey days. That stuff kills the large arena audience.

That was just a perfect arena solo. Check how he keeps the energy going, doing classy, technical stuff but not to the point of losing the crowds. SS is just badass.

Not only an HOD favorite...but that would be a Letterman audience pleaser for sure.

Yup! Todd Sucherman is a monster rock drummer who's soloing is on par with his playing!

I have to agree that Akira Jimbo would be a great choice. He's great at the self-accompaniament thing with the pads and samples and it blows me away every time.

FYI John Weathers from Gentle Giant used the pipe-in-the-vent thing in the 70s...

To Gavin
I'll repeat what I said on your FB fan page

A man with pure talent and a drumming beast just offered us an outstanding 4 minutes of ecstasy last night. Congrats Gavin and thank's for making that little 4 minutes memorable.

I absolutely mean it ;)

Dennis owned as usual (although they did miss a few hits here and there). I get the feeling there will be a drum solo week no 3? Can someone get in touch with someone who can get in touch with da Vinster? Also known as Drum God Colaiuta?
