When the violinist came over stage right, it looked like Sting was trying to get away...

I'm seeing them on sunday. Not too crazy about the violin, but I guess we all like to try something new.

Well Vinnie has something with violinist, since his days with zappa. You can expect this during the next show ;-) Just Kidding

It seems he really likes having that crash to the left of his ride.

Something pro-shot would be great... still sounds like Vinnie to me though.

I cought the show on Sunday.

I was at a festival and Sting was alst on the bill. Since I didn't want to spend 7 hours waiting while listening to too loud nusic I didn't like I ended up a bit further away from the stage than I prefer. I few to many people not really there for the music making a bit too much noise.

The band sounded really tight and solid. Really nice feel on "End of the Game" and "Seven Days". Something was off with the balance and way to little guitar on "Love is Stronger Than Justice" and somehow it never felt right. I liked the violin, but thought there were too many violin solos. One would be more than enough for me.

Vinnie sounded really good. He was in a solid simplified rock mood, hitting really hard, but threw in quite a few cool things here and there that blended just right with the music. He counted the band off on the hi-hat most of the time. The new kit sounds good, but so far the character of the old kit is more preferrable to my tastes. A little bit bland to my ears. The coolest thing was the side snare, which mightbe processed quite a bit. Nice and fat, though.
