I'm a huge fan of Guthrie Govan. "Erotic Cakes" is a favorite of mine. So naturally I was excited to learn that Govan just released an album with Marco Minnemann and Bryan Beller called The Aristocrats.
I just purchased it, and I think it's great.

It kinda reminds me of Cosmosquad. Allround playing is stellar, and those drums sound unbelievable.
Just a little recommendation..

You should change the title of this thread to something about recommendations cause I want to recommend something too. Jeff Beck's Emotion and Commotion. I might be showing up a little late to this party but I have to say this album is phenomenal. I look at it as a throwback to the 70's Beck fusion albums that I love only done with contemporary production.....gif)

Is it just me, or does it seem that MM's chops are so ridiculous that he doesn't get enough credit for his groove? Loved the sampler. MM sounds a bit like Carl Palmer with better feel.

Marco can play grooves if he wants to, he just doesn't want to. If you haven't noticed he's a bit of a nut. I'd love to see him get some kind of mainstream gig like with Sting or even the Dream Theater thing would have worked but I think he's just too weird for most guys to hang out with.

Exactly! I didnt listen to the sampler before hand. I just bought the album. Listening to the sampler now, I think it focuses too much on the crazy, technical stuff. MM's groove on this album surprises me in a very positive way.
