Re: For sale: Yamaha Oak Custom w/Hex Rack
Hmmm. 110 looks, no replies? Does this look like a fair deal? I thought it did, am I off base?

No, that's a smokin' deal. I guess no one around here is looking for a new kit. Your best bet is probably eBay (as I'm sure you're aware). I ended up selling my Yamahas a while ago to a guy in Australia. Shipping alone was $1,200.

Thought about ebay, but was trying to avoid that......Might have to go there because I can't order my new kit till I sell this one.

Let me do some math here:
$2200 - $1200 = $1000 for the shells? That is interesting for anyone who has Yammy hardware on hand.
Plus, you should throw out where exactly you are, as to entice local inquiries.

I think it's a pretty good deal considering the condition of the kit and the cases. I edited to include location(La Mirada, CA).

not bad, i just sold one of my beech custom kits for 1400, was 22x16, 10,12,14 and 16. just the tom mounts.
was a local buyer. good enough deal, someone will notice eventually.
IMO the Oak Customs were one of the worst selling kits by yamaha, hence the short life and production. love them or hate them, but it's definitely an extreme one way or the other kit.

Surely "worst selling" must be a matter of measurement, not opinion?

"Were"? Oak Custom is still in production, and one of our top-selling kits. It was slow to get off the ground(as is anything thats not maple or birch it seems), but we sell a ton of Oak Custom.
