Great clip.
Total control and total respect of the music.
I'm sure he knows where that kind of drumming comes from.
Gergo is a great drummer and here he's really into the music.
This is the aggressive playing that really make sense.
To own the ability to know what to play and when to play or not certain things and in a certain way really makes the difference and belongs only to the real musicians.
This is really great.
Bravo Gergo!

I've seen a little bit of Gergo,...what a great player. I'm not a huge fan of Allan, I can listen to it for a bit, but the tone becomes tiresome to my ears after a while.(All the respect in the world for his ability, the guy is an amazing talent and has influenced more musicians than most ever will). To me, a guy I think would fit Allan well and add something to the music is Damien Schmitt. I've seen/heard him play a wide array of genres, and he does it all effortlessly while complementing the music.

Played this for a young drummer friend of mine. Pants were wet. I love it when we find drummers who still add mystery to the drum set.

I'm taking up guitar now and my guitar teacher asked me why I didn't list Holdsworth among the many jazz guitarists I said I liked. I said because I'm not one of the 12 living guitarists who understand his genuis. He laughed and admitted even as accomplished a player as he is, even he doesn't really get Holdsworth. There's definitely a point where the concept is so elevated it becomes ineffective as music, IMO, but I will never begrudge anyone who makes music for their own contentment -- and maybe especially if they can still make a living at it. Because, IMO, that's what everyone should be doing. That's where the real inspiration is.

Maybe Holdsworth is playing like this because he has tasted too much of his own brewed beer ;)

Wow this Gergo performance really blew my mind. He has a refreshingly unique approach. It makes me realize my own desire to be unique and bring something to the table. That is the whole idea right? Tony Williams accomplished that by age 12! What a talent!

He is a mixture of Dennis and Vinnie sort of , IMO at least.

It's a great performance. I just like him more without the Dennis kind of stuff, that's when his true voice comes out and he really brings amazing stuff to the music.

I've become a big Gergo fan.
I like his approach, style and sense of humor.
Seems like he gets it.

It's what I thought when I discovered Gergo watching that clip below, but lately I don't hear any Vinnie anymore in his drumming who is very muscular, he's still a great player of course.
