I have the Tracking CD, it's a nice one. I'm not that into that kind of compositions but Vinnie is nailing it as always. A lot of great drumming on that one.

Anyone have the other one, the live record?

I have both and the live one is as even better, War Stories by Kimo Williams is also a great album, these are in my desert island list.... The woody snare sound is mine now, took me ages to find the right snare and hoop combi, Weckl maple and Yamaha maple hoop gets as close as possible for my money.

I have Tracking; it reminds me a lot of Jaco Pastorius' Word of Mouth. The compositions have that flavor. I did not like it at first. After a while it grew on me though. Some great VC stuff on it.

Saw Kimo w/ Vinnie in Whitewater, WI some years back. It was amazing. Bought the Tracking cd that night and have since lost it, but I loved it. You could tell how much fun Vinnie was having playing the music, of course he had carte blanche.
Moderation's all well and good, just don't overdo it.

Thats some funny shit man! I could easily see this as being a real conversation about the general trends in recording. Especially with the big names. What do "they" say? Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

BTW...love the website where you can create your own cartoons. I'm working on one now with Larry King and Sarah Palin.

First recording snippets with Vinnie Colaiuta and Kimo as they record Kimo's Epic Tone Poem , "N". The double vinyl album is due out late November 2013 or early January 2014.
This is a snippet from the first movement: Event 1 Escape and Runaway.
More posting here and on Twitter as I move the project forward.

This album is very personal and speaks to the pejorative, "the N Word" and is my expression relating to the controversy surrounding its use and my position that such a word should never be uttered. I know I am in conflict with many scholars and activists, and since I am not an intellectual with research and statistical analysis data, I will just let my music speak for me as I did regarding my service in Vietnam. I know my second cousin (who is no longer with us) Tupac Shakur and many others have rationalized its use and I cannot argue with their position and rhetoric, as I can only state my feelings and I do that best through my music.
