RIP Tom Roady....

Postby patdrums » Mon Nov 28, 2011 5:08 pm

We lost another drumming brother last night with the untimely death of Nashville percussionist Tom Roady. Tom had recently been diagnosed with cancer and was facing traditional treatments but decided to go an alternate route and attempt holistic/dietary therapy before resorting to traditional medicine. Ironically, it wasn't the cancer that took his life but an apparent heart attack. As a long time friend of Tom's and a cancer survivor myself, I spoke with him only a few days ago and he was upbeat, positive and looking forward to fighting his cancer tooth and nail. Sadly, he didn't get the chance to......

A short bio and his astounding list of credits appears at the following link.....even if you didn't know Tom, you've heard him. RIP my friend. You will be sorely missed...

How sad. I saw Tom perform in Nashville at the Nashville Percussion Institute with Roy Wooten, several years ago. He played beautifully and complemented the music with perfect taste. RIP Tom. You'll be missed.
