I took some years, but i have started to like some drum&bass drumming So i need some new inspiration in that department.. Anybody have some idea on some books, dvd, youtubes links, transcriptions? (I have the Johnny Rabb book)
You should check out Anders Meinhardt and his band FUKT. He's a good friend of mine. He's the real deal + all the clips of him speaking Danish might still make some sense to a Swede like you
Thank´s Morgenthaler, stole a nice groove from him, great drumming at the end. Jo-Jo Mayer i know about since many years... Any instrutional dvd`s or books out out about drum&bass drumming?
I play a lot of DNB and I really like to try and incorporate it into all different facets of my playing when I can. Playing this type of music made me think about how to use just a kick, snare and hi-hat. This set up encourages a "less is more" approach that has helped me focus on soloing without destroying the groove. You can come up with lots o new ways to orchestrate stickings and rudiments around such a small kit. Try listening to producers such as Squarepusher, LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, and Hive. They are good examples of this genre for drummers to listen to and try to reproduce live.
