Since you used the term "darker", I would suggest either a Traditional crash, or Dark Energy. I have two Traditional crashes, 17" and 18", and I think they meet your criteria. Kind of pricey though. Also, radically different from an A Zildjian crash. You might like the Armand Zildjian crashes more.
