Re: new Satriani cd
I'm not an uber fan or a hater of Satriani's music, but this was just OKAY for me. I really dug the stuff Bissonette did with Satch, and this sounds more in that sorta vein to me. But I want Vinnie to be Vinnie, so I guess I'll wait and see if I can peep a couple more tunes before I get the album.
Moderation's all well and good, just don't overdo it.

I liked that song, fat !!!
Satriani doesn't look like a nice person though...

I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

"How could know how the rest of the album is based on that little clip? "
Well, I don't know how I could be encouraged to buy from that sample! That gave me very little to be enthusiastic about. Sorry to be a downer, but this may be another album with Vinnie on it that I pass on.

Re: new Satriani cd
Couldn't care less about a new Satch cd. The Vic Firth sticks however, are a completely different matter. Are they the same as the old ones? I have over 40 pairs of them now which will last for years given my typical use. I would really love to be able to change sticks more often though, just for comfort, instead of having to view a pair of sticks as something that can not be replaced. I hate that feeling.

Sticks have a shelf life. I don't know if they dry out a bit or what, but their feel changes after a few months. Maybe for the better, but I don't think so.

Yeah, it's a moisture content issue -- asked Joe Testa about this a year or so ago because I'd noticed it with mine.
Re: new Satriani cd
Well this news about drum sticks sucks. About a year or so ago someone posted a link to musicians friend deal of the day. It was Vic firth stix. 5b's dirt ass cheap. I bought 2 cords. Still have quite a few left from that purchase. Now to learn they don't feel right. I haven't noticed any perfoance issues.
