I enjoyed that until the drum solo, Bruner has SO MUCH potential, but he needs to just relax and learn to play dynamics.

His technique is just bananas.

But Manu, why do you want him to not play the way he wants ? The way he is ? We play like we are. That's the way he plays, he's around since quite sometimes now, and he's hired by great musicians, Ron plays like him, you have to accept that, and he's not a kid anymore.

I want him to play the way he plays for sure, unfortunately I don't like undynamic playing so I wont be able to enjoy him as much as I could and that's what I regret. And certainly if he was more dynamic I would love his playing so I wish he would play more dynamically, for my own sake, but for his own sake I want him to play in whatever way he feels like.

I'm glad Bruner got the Holdsworth gig. That guy is one of the most brilliant electric guitarists on the planet. And the people who have drummed for him, of course, are all incredible.

I'm just not hearing the orchestral approach from anyone except for Gary. He knows these tunes inside-and-out. He's a full orchestra backing up Allen. It must stem from his harmonic background (piano) that leads to this approach. He brings another dimension to the whole thing and it's not necessarily drum oriented. It's his phrasing and approach with the cymbals, grooves and fills that accomplish this. It's a very deep yet brutal approach to playing Holdsworth's music and will someday soon be analyzed in a Conservatory.

Holy fuck. I mean, he's overplaying and he knows it, but the guys behind the glass know what they're in for.

Sometimes I think he's just inappropriate behind the kit. Other times I think he's just fucking SCARY.
