"The Alicante gig was on July 18. When the band assembled in the lobby to go to sound check, Chambers didn’t show. “Mike Stern knew, when I wasn’t down there, there was something wrong. Because I’m normally the first one there,” says Chambers. “So he called my room, he called my cellphone and I wasn’t answering. And he just had a feeling.”

“I banged on his door, and he didn’t answer,” says Stern. “And that’s when I went downstairs and got the receptionist.” Entering the room, he found Chambers lying in a pool of blood."

I remember Dennis touring with Santana several years back and they stayed at the hotel in London I'm still working at. They were all due to check out and leave, Dennis was already at the desk signing his bill and then he called one of the bandmates in the room going like "I'm already in the lobby, where the f..." which was where he rapidly looked around cutting his sentence in the middle, noticing that there are people standing around him

Seems like he's pretty disciplined when it comes to organisational matters. I remember my excitement when I found out he was coming with the band. Not a superstar kind of a person, kept himself to himself. Got to meet Carlos in person too!
