Pretty close eh, Paul? 8-)

We are proud to announce that legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta has come home to Gretsch Drums. Without question, Vinnie is one of the world’s most respected and admired drummers. Throughout his prolific, 4-decade career, his artistry has inspired and entertained legions of drummers and music fans alike. Vinnie will be taking his newly redesigned, Gretsch USA Custom Kit finished in a one-of-a-kind Cobalt Blue Lacquer with Vinnie Colaiuta signature badges out on the road with Sting on his upcoming, 19-city “Rock Paper Scissors” tour with Peter Gabriel which kicks off June 21st in Columbus, Ohio. Welcome home, Vinnie.

Bronze and solid steel.

Slightly to American 60's kit color, though. Wondering if the amount of toms is his new thing or a gig requirement.

Still on the suspension-less wagon too, it seems.

Change back to DW hardware is probably related to the DW/Gretsch relationship.

Not sure why he ever left, but if it was about funds and support I'm sure that's another positive thing where that new relationship might have been helpful.

Ludwigs are cool and all, but that's what they are "cool." They have some wonderful snares, but their toms sure don't sing like Gretsch.

It's like the shark passed away and no one had to jump.
