Love your passion, Gavin...new clip from GC...

Postby robhaerr » Thu Feb 24, 2011 5:12 pm

I really wanted to be at this clinic, but work got in the way.

I like the passion and explanation about the little things...I can do "little things"...

Now bring on the duet and rehearsal with Simon!

He's just about the most inspiring drummer out there... but there's so many great ones, really.

This was a great clinic!!! Sat in the first row. The toms were so full and musical sounding. I hope they post the whole clinic.

The genius of what he's talking about. The idea of using borders to force creativity is incredible.

I'll never forget when a very famous guitarist told me he makes he students play a solo using only 3 notes, now apply that to drums. Layer on a genre. The concept is astounding.

Gavin, always an inspiration. I noticed your explanation of "curling" fills reminds me of surfing, not so much the pitch ascension, but more that you are starting off with a very dense note value and opening it up as it goes....

If you look up "EXCEPTIONAL DRUM SOUND" in the Universal Encyclopedia, Gavin´s picture is near to the description.

And perfect explanation of the clinic concepts in the video.

THANKS.

Thanks Guys,
I'm working on getting the two PT songs that I played 'unblocked' by Warner Bros. They obviously have a 'fast trigger' when certain song names get uploaded.

Nice to meet some HoD guys there.

Cheers
Gavin
