Looove Dave's playing for sure...
Stating the obvious here but worth repeating, one aspect of a genuine musician is to be able to let the depth of his/her soul translate/express itself on the instrument.. Musicians able to express it are the ones that reach me the most and Dave is a great example of this.. Truly a beautiful musician who happens to also have tons of tricks behind his sleeves..

Hah. That's the first linear pattern I ever learned. Remember it showing up after a random web search as a "Vinnie-like" pattern. Thinking about impossible it was to make that flow I guess I've learned something.
Crazy chops, but totally into everything he does.

Hi boys and girls !!
Some Dicenso´s best moments, in my opinion...
As I said, I did some grooves loops from Dicenso´s Modern Drummer Festival 2006 performance.
I love so much what he does that I had to make some loops (1-2 bars long) to taste them better.
I hope you like.
They are 21 grooves/fills.

Lol, that's great Juan. Insane editing and insane drumming. Best bits for me are
1:12 to 1:25, 3:58 to 4:20 and 4:21 to 4:41. He's such a beast.

Thanks Rudy.
All the Dicenso´s grooves/parts are numbered at the left/below corner.
I guess you mean: number 4, 5, 14 (ahhh) and 15.
My favourite bit is number 2 and the fill of number 16.

Favourte is still Vinnie's as that's my kind of music. Had enough of those songs, though.
Dave's performance is easy #2 or equal to that. Solo drumset at a drum festival and keeping the focus musical, interesting, flowing and grooving like that. Rare indeed.

Is anyone else kinda shocked Dave plays with Josh Grobin?
Good for Dave...well paying gig, high profile, but Josh Grobin?
Kinda like Charlie Adams with Yanni...Buddy chops guy playing
music that does not require such proficiency. Just would never
have connected the Dave dot with Grobin. Watching these
types of videos I always think how all those "groove clips" fit
into a musical style, especially a commercial gig.
