AWESOME interview, really AWESOME...
Words of wisdom, and a lot of passion from Virgil. He's an example for all of us, ALL.
I've got chills when he spoke about Jeff, but I was really captured by all the things he said.
Great!
A big ciao from Rome

p.s. Do you know when the new record will be out?

Same thing in my town a week and a half ago. 20 ppl there. Playing was CRAZY good.

I was standing at the stage right next to Chris Clark (keys). After one of the earlier tunes in the set, I just laughed and looked at Junior and Chris and said "Where's 1?!". Chris smiled and said "Virgil does love his rhythmic devices". Virgil looks at us from under his crash cymbal and said "Actually, that entire song was in 4/4." Priceless.

It really was a great show. All the guys were very gracious, and I enjoyed talking w/ Vigil after the show. Fun times.
Please, dear God, stop them from clapping on 1 and 3.

There are a few vocal tracks on the new album. Love how he is still hitting the drums really hard. Makes for a great drum/cymbal sound overall.

Connecticut drum clinic is a great post! Great tunes!

If you don't want to stream it, the new album is out on CD today! It's a fantastic tour de force with much more
hi-hat than double bass drums and with a wonderful mix of old friends and young talents brought to the table:

Did someone hijack VD's YTube acct because most of this LP
is posted under his name! Why would he do this? Is this the
new strategy...pour years of your life into a project and spend
a ton of cash only to give it away for FREE? We are living in
wrong times...this is seriously bad insects...

I admit, I listened to this online...LOVED IT! You are correct about
his intricate hat work...i wish he pulled back on the high speed
tom fills which like high speed double bass lack taste (for me)...
this is a very mature LP
