What else is there to be said about Vinnie that hasn't already been said...his paradiddles aren't quite as consistently ultra-smooth as Weckl's? :| (no disrespect intended to either Mr. Colauita or the great Dave Weckl, by any means!).

The point is that we all know Vinnie is...well, Vinnie. 'Nuff said. :D

to come home, grab a beer, stretch, deep breath...and view it over and over...
then to realize as the HOD honcho...the power he held to share this...

Those were the days...

When Steve would bring his hard drive over for the HOD Hangs at my place, viewing that video was always the crescendo of the event!!! Like we were watching the most secretive video in existence.

Yeah...I remember Derek complimenting me...you guys were going insane...
i was clicking time with my sticks and Derek said, "Look at Pocketplayer...
always locked into the groove" Well, that was about my only contribution
with the talent level presented...along with bringing fried chicken nobody
touched...i really thought that was gonna be a good choice...until i saw
what Lorenzini's wife made...i took the leftover chicken home...needed to eat
the next day!

KURTIS, Man, thanks for that VC clip. Only 7' into it and he is playing brushes and swing as no one else can.
what a genius! The way he intertwines straight 8th, triplet and 5s has always amazed me since 1980 when
first hearing VC.
Thanks again!

I'm so happy that some folks have fond memories of the site and the hangs! I'm glad the site is still around, although I feel like it could get relaunched somehow in a new format. The forum software we use is still fairly current believe it or not but I wonder what else would be an effective vehicle for drummers hanging and sharing online. FB is pretty much it - giving users the ability to create their own page is pretty smart. I wonder if we should double down on the HOD FB page and make that a thing. Not THE thing - just an alternate. I imagine there's already drum FB pages some of you go to? I don't frequent any myself. Well, there's a Vinnie one that's good actually. That's it .

Steve...I think there is an age factor...what is the ave age of the HOD members that
are involved? Easily over 40 yes? The content reflects that...when were are say 30, Vinnie
was HOT...today, not so much for the under 30 crowd. Seems every "celebrity" today
has a podcast or YT channel ala Kevin James or Jim Gaffigan...Vinnie's own podcast is
deep...it reflects his age and views. Just sayin' So the sharing and hanging is age based.
Younger guys aren't thinking Floyd Sneed laid down some sweet grooves...lol
I think if you did interviews...always said this...you are a natural at this...this would
generate good content...talk to kids in high school and up...
