this kid is young and has a lot of potential, and i appreciate his focus on big band swing drumming which has fallen out of popularity, but he has a lot to work on to be the elite drummer he's posturing to be imo. i find his touch way too heavy and ham-handed (just bashing the drums and especially cymbals), his articulation sloppy, his timing uneven. he needs a good teacher. good for him to generate insta-fame, but it's way out of proportion with his skill.
Kendrick on the other hand, one of the best to ever do it.
